17 Weeks

Hi!

Not much has changed this week.   School is back in swing and in full force.  I am needing at least an hour nap when I get home from school to be able to function for the night.  It is nice because while Charlie is biking at night, I am usually resting.  I have been told by people that by second trimester, I will have my energy back.  I am still waiting.  Maybe I am not as tired as I used to be, but I am still struggling in the afternoons.

As far as how things are going with my body, I am starting to show a bit more.  Charlie took a picture last night and I can see the changes.  It is very obvious in the mornings when I wake up. I love waking up and looking at my tummy in the morning.  Sometimes I never know if it is a full belly or really the baby but in the morning, I can really tell  :)  People are starting to notice more at work.  I am having to wear belly bands around my pants because they are getting tight and uncomfortable.  I haven't started maternity clothes but I think I will be trying them soon.

Some of the things I am missing:

1.  I am missing marathon training and long runs.
I am still running about three miles daily and loving it.  Shannon and I have been on the Monon Saturdays for our weekly walks and it makes me sad that I am not training this summer.  Shannon and I are registered for the Indy and Geist mini for next May so I figure I can get my body back after the baby.

2.  I miss making brownies and cakes and not being able to lick the spoon.
This sounds so silly but I was making both for my family reunion this past weekend and I couldn't eat the batter.  Normally, I don't worry about salmonella but with the baby, I am worrying a bit more.

3.  I miss my energy.
