We are halfway there to meeting our little baby. We had an eventful week. We had our 20 week ultrasound and it was so wonderful to see pictures of our little one. The last time we had our ultrasound was around seven weeks so there a lot has changed since then. At seven weeks, our little baby looked like a little pea and now it looks like a human baby. It is incredible to see the changes and to see the spine and legs, hands and feet. Our baby was in the fetal position and was moving around a ton. Since we didn't want to find out the sex, the ultrasound technician didn't even look either and didn't want to spoil it for us. The heart rate dropped significantly and was 136. She said that it can change at any time so it didnt mean anything. I went running before the appointment because I wanted the baby to be moving at our ultrasound appointment. :)
I am still not feeling much. I can tell my stomach is growing because I am feeling some aches and stretches. I am definitely seeing my stomach pooch out. It is pretty incredible that your body just knows what to do. I am amazed. The doctor said that I should be feeling some butterfly flutters and bubbles but I am not sure what it should feel like.
One fun thing that Kelli and Beth (two of my best friends who are also pregnant) did the other weekend was a wise tale to see if we could find out what we were having. We put our wedding band on a string and hung it over our stomach until it reached our uterus. If it goes in a circle, it is supposed to be a girl and if it goes in a line, it is supposed to be a boy. We did it a couple times and said that I am having a girl. We shall see.....
I have only gained 6 pounds since the beginning. I am still running and feeling great doing so. Charlie and I are heading to Mexico on Thursday until Monday for the annual TBA trip. I am not sure how I am going to feel about being in a swimsuit in front of a lot of people. I am excited to relax and soak in the sun.
Couple things:
1. We are starting to move some of Charlie's bike stuff downstairs and slowly start on the nursery. I picked out the paint and we are doing a light gray with white furniture and pops of yellow.
2. We have started to talk about names and throwing out ones that we like. It is so hard to pick a name because I will like a name but I am not sure I LOVE the name forever. Charlie is picking the boys name and I am picking the girls name.
3. My students are starting to find out that I am pregnant. It has been funny to see how they find out and how they ask me if I am pregnant. A couple students want to rub my stomach and I am not sure about that. :)
4. I will add some pictures that my mom took the other day. Love to all!
