Happy Fall Break! I am off today and tomorrow so I have been meaning to update the blog on our lives for the past couple weeks.
So last week we went on our babymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was just what we needed. No entertaining anyone and just relaxation. We went from Saturday to the following Sunday-so were gone quite a bit of time. We were lucky enough to stay at the Hilton and ended up getting a rental car so we went into the town of Cabo quite a bit. Our daily schedule was that we would wake up and run on the beach for about 30 minutes. Charlie was such a trooper because he hates running but knew that I really wanted to so he joined me every morning. Then, we would change into our suits and head out to the pool chairs and lay around from 9-4ish. We would have lunch by the pool and Hilton made the best mango daiquiris and miami vices (obviously without alcohol). So yummy! We, then, would go in for a nap and head out for dinner in Cabo. We would be in bed by 10 or 11 every night. It was so nice. I think it was just what we needed.
We had our 24 week appointment and everything went well. There was quite a big jump in weight gain from 6 pounds for the first 20 weeks and to 15 pounds total for 24 weeks. The doctor was happy with the gain but it is quite different to be the same weight my whole life and to see a different number on a scale. The doctor started measuring my belly this week and am on schedule. The heartrate of the baby was 142. Next appointment is November 7th and that is the glucose test-where I drink a sugary drink and have my blood tested for gestasional diabetes.
I am getting really excited for our baby showers in November. I have the greatest friends and family that have offered to throw Charlie and I a shower. We have ordered all our furniture and it is in the nursery in boxes. It just needs to be put together and the room needs to be painted. Charlie is out in Vegas this weekend for work so hopefully next weekend, we can start the nursery. I ended up ordered our bedding from a lady on Etsy. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said she could make it. We are painting the nursery gray and with white furniture. I think there will be pops of yellow.
As far as development of the baby, we are feeling kicks and they are getting stronger. Charlie can look at my stomach at night and see the movement. The baby is about 1 and a half pounds now. I am feeling great. Walking up stairs without getting out of breath is getting a bit harder. I am still running about 3 miles a day and just going slow. My eating is pretty basic. Lots of PBJ's, Chipotle veggie tacos, greek yogurt, pasta.
So I wanted to add some pictures of the bump, since I havent added many lately. Here you go!
