I wanted to do a quick update and will add more belly pictures soon. Today was my 27 week appointment and I had to take my glucose test. For some reason, I was really nervous about this test. I tried to watch my sweet intake this weekend. I was told to eat protein this morning for breakfast so I had eggs. The fruit punch drink was a bit more sugary than a Gatorade. I had my appointment during the hour wait to have my blood drawn. It was a great appointment because I really got to talk with the doctor about how he could find the heartbeat so quickly on my stomach. He felt around and could tell exactly where the head, legs, spine, etc. where. The heartbeat was 152. I still could listen to that heartbeat all day long. They are supposed to call me within the next two days for the results of the glucose test.
Since this is my online journal and I am planning on using these updates as a baby book, I will share the good with the bad. He was a bit concerned because I have gained 6 pounds within the past 4 weeks-which apparently is a bit too much. He just said to watch what I am eating and I don't have to always eat because I am hungry. It is hard because I feel like I have been eating healthy but these pregnancy hunger pains are hard. It will just make me watch it a bit more. My total weight gain so far is 21 pounds.
As far as how things are going with the house, we have really gotten a lot of work done on the nursery. Charlie was out in Vegas for work last weekend so my mom came over and we painted the nursery. It actually wasn't too hard as I am no professional painter. With the help of blue tape, I think we made it look really nice. Charlie has put together our changing table, dresser, and glider/ottoman. I think we are going to put together the crib this week. I have ordered the drapes and the rug for the room and am just waiting for them to arrive. Once it is all put together, I will definitely post pictures.
I am so excited for this weekend because it is my first shower that Emily, Gwen and Kelli are hosting. I will post pictures from the shower next week. :)
Charlie is getting so excited and I just cant wait to see him as a dad. I know he is going to be so wonderful.
