9 weeks

This post is long overdue.  And, I have no excuse because I have been just enjoying my summer.  So, a lot has happened since my last post.  First, we had our first ultrasound.  Charlie went with me and I didn't really know what to expect.  Everything went well and we heard and saw our little baby.  We heard the heartbeat and that was the greatest sound ever.  We both got really excited.  The heartbeat was 120 bpm (which is on the low side but the technician said we could of checked it in five minutes and it could be much higher.)   Plus, I was really nervous which could of impacted it too.  Also, I thought I was 8 weeks at the appointment and they pushed me back one week so my due date changed to 2/6/2012.

Then, we met with the nurse-who basically went over everything we could and couldn't do/eat.  There is a lot of things that I learned-no deli meat, soft cheeses, keep your heart rate under 140-geez.   This baby is calling for some life changes.  :)  Then, we met with our actual doctor.  Since the practice is so big and there are over 10 doctors, they cannot guarantee that he will deliver me but I am going to switch around and meet a couple other doctors too.  Charlie called him Dr. Snooze because he thought he was super boring.  Ha!  As long as he delivers a healthy baby, I am okay.  He isn't supposed to be a salesman, Charlie.   After our three hour appointment, we went to lunch to celebrate.

As far as how things are going symptom-wise:  I am sick, sick, sick.  I get sick and throw up about once or twice a day.  I am nausea all day long so most of the time I don't mind getting sick because it provides some relief for a while.  I am still exhausted and needed  naps throughout the day.  I cannot imagine working right now.  Although, maybe it would make it easier because I wouldn't just be sitting around all day.

I am still running on good days.  I have taken my mileage down to 2 miles per day and going very slow. I have been enjoying walks with friends too.

We are getting excited and are telling our really close friends.  They are so excited for us.  We have had weddings and bachelorette parties and it is not quite the same as participating to the full effect-if you know what I mean.  :)

Our next appointment is in less than two weeks so we will get to hear the heartbeat and will be around 11/12 weeks so we will start telling more people.
