30 weeks
On the development of the baby: its says the baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face.
Thanksgiving 2011
On some days I feel like I have been pregnant FOREVER and on other days, it feels like I can do this for 10 more weeks. I am dealing with some heavy lower back pain. I went to the doctor for my 30 week appointment and he said that my pelvis is moving to allow the baby to come through and there is a lot of ligaments around the area so that is what is causing the pain. My belly button is very painful to touch and said that I have an umbilical hernia. He said it was nothing to worry about but just to keep an eye out. He also advised me to stop running and to just speed walk.
Whats new this week:
1. We had our second Lamaze class and it was very helpful this week. The nurse focused on techniques for back pain and so that helped a bunch. I think I am going to try a prenatal yoga class tonight to see if that helps the pain.
2. We are celebrating our one year anniversary this weekend. I still cant believe we have been married for one year. It seems like yesterday. We are heading down to West Baden Springs hotel in French Lick. We have no plans except to relax.
3. I am starting to get the brown line down my tummy. Charlie had to tell me because the belly is getting too big to notice.
30 weeks!
